Mom had an amazing and productive day. She had the epidural removed, catheter removed and pulse oxygen monitor removed. She had a difficult time transitioning from the epidural to percocet, but I think the nurses have her pain under control. She had 4 physical therapy sessions (one of them was a shower!), 2 occupational therapy sessions and 4 respiratory therapy sessions. She ate 1/3 bowl of chicken noodle soup for lunch and pudding for dinner. It was a really busy day.
Her pain has increased because the epidural is no longer numbing the pain, but she feels that the pain is at a manageable level. Her temperature is 96.6 and holding steady and her blood pressure has been a little higher than her regular low blood pressure, but in a safe range.
In my conversation with Dr. Dodson this morning he said she could go home tomorrow barring any setbacks. Let’s pray for a great night tonight.
Thanks everyone for your love and support of mom. You are all wonderful and I love you.
